Glenfiddich Expansion Project 2013-14

Established in 1897 family owned William Grant & Sons is a luxury spirits company with a portfolio of brands enjoyed worldwide.

The Glenfiddich Distillery is situated in Dufftown, in the Speyside region of Scotland; the malt whisky capital of the world. Glenfiddich in Gaelic means ‘the valley of the deer’.

Glenfiddich is created using the finest malted barley and a single source of crystal clear spring water from the Robbie Dhu Springs; and it’s made in exactly the same way as it was in 1887 when the first spirit ran from the stills. The distillery still employs the traditional skills of dedicated craftsmen to produce the spirit and we’re happy to say they take the same approach when engaging contractors.

When the number 1 still house was expanded in 2013 /2014 Muirton Control & Automation Ltd were engaged to carry out the control & instrumentation, electrical and pneumatic installations for the still house expansion building and the three additional stills, one wash and two spirit.

After a fairly hectic installation period centred on the Christmas and New Years break which involved a fair amount of flexibility from our staff, the works were commissioned without issue early in the New Year, another successful project completed.
