Order Accepted for First Licensed Distillery on Raasay.

On Monday 13th June 2016 R&B Distillers commenced construction of the first legal distillery on the remote isle of Raasay, with first production planned for early summer of 2017.

Designed by Olli Blair from ABIR Architects and Allen Associates, it is expected the independently owned and operated distillery will generate employment for up to 10% of the island’s 120 residents.

The island’s striking Victorian villa and ex-hotel, Borodale House, which has stood empty since 2006, will be transformed into the Isle of Raasay Distillery visitor centre, which is projected to bring in 12,000 visitors to the island in the first year. Today we are delighted to announce that we have accepted an order for the complete process electrical and control installation for the new R&B Distillery on Raasay.

The project will involve the design, build and supply of PLC and motor control panels and creation, installation and commissioning of bespoke PLC and operator interface programmes as well as the associated electrical and pneumatic installations.

We look forward to working with R&B Distillers and another successful project.
