Work Completed on Anaerobic Digester.

Wester Clockeasy farm, Urquart, is home to one of a growing number of anaerobic digesters in the country.

Anaerobic Digester

Cattle manure and silage waste from the farm is fed into the facility, producing biogas that is used to generate electricity. With energy sold to the grid, by-product ‘digestate’ used as a free fertiliser replacement and the much-reduced cost of disposing manure the plant should prove to be a worthwhile investment.

When main contractor Agtec Ltd first contacted us back in April to quote for the plant electrical installation we were happy to do so and viewed it as an opportunity to be involved in a relatively new technology within our local area.

Muirton Control & Automation Ltd carried out the electrical installation of the plant equipment, drives and instrumentation.
